{POTD} Blog Hop Photo Fav

This week Mr. Linky is hosting a Blog Hop entitled, “Favorite Photo.”  My Favorite Photo from recent photographs has got to be this one I snapped this past weekend at Legoland.  My family and I were waiting in line to get on a ride.  My son was bored standing there so he asked me for the map of the park.  As he is looking at the map he is trying to decide which ride to go on next.  This is one of those moments when I am so thankfully I looked like  geek and had my camera hanging from my neck.

{POTD} 59th Place

59th place ain’t first place but it’s not last place either.  A few weeks ago I entered a Photography Challenge over at the Digital Photography Review website in the Deserts category.  Yesterday afternoon when my son and I returned from our trip to the Library, I had an email telling me that my Entry received 59th Place.  I was just over at the website reviewing all the other entries and realized that there were only 66 Entries total.  So I may not have won the voters over with my photograph this time, at least it was good enough not to be the one the voters liked the least.

Monochrome Weekly

I am a day late with my contribution to Monochrome Weekly.  At first I was stumped as to what photograph I wanted to display this week.  Overnight while I was working on building my photography website it came to me.  And on my way home this morning after dropping my daughter off at the bus stop I remembered what I was going to post.  So here is my belated Monochrome Weekly photograph.

Last Thursday my daughter came home complaining that she injured her right ring finger why playing flag football at PE.  I had her ice it as it did not appear broken and we splinted it to keep it from getting bumped.  On Friday she got sent up to see the scholl nurse who looked at it and said it could either be dislocted or broken.

So off to the emergency room we go Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend.  Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.  As for my daughter’s finger, well she managed to shatter the bone on her right ring finger between the 2nd and 3rd knuckles.  I bring this up today and share pictures because I had to wait until today to follow up with the orthopedic surgeon because of the holiday.  And see he is extremely busy, I can’t get her in to see the doctor until next Monday.

Hey, at least she still has her thumbs for texting.  Heaven forbid she couldn’t text!

Memorial Day holiday weekend is here.  Many will honor those fallen soldiers who dies for our country.  And others will embark on a home improvement project over this long hoiday weekend.

My hubby and I spontaneously decided to go with the latter.  You see, we have had this wooden crate taken up space in our garage for many weeks now.  Chris kept throwing out ideas of what we could do with it, you know, recycle it.  I rejected most of his ideas up until now.

Saturday morning as we stood in our cluttered garage and contemplated what to do this 3 day weekend, the lightbulb suddenly came on.  We would create a bar you can sit at on the patio while BBQing or entertaining outdoors.

So here is our wooden crate we plan to recycle into an outdoor bar.
